How to Maintain Stable Mental Health in an Environment Full of Negativity

Well, currently there’s a lot of things happening in the World, and honestly, it’s not healthy for us all. Especially to those who struggle with their mental health.

Due to everything going on, it’s hard being positive, but there we are trying.
So today’s post, will give you tips how to maintain stable mental health in year 2020

* pin it 📌 *

Tidy Room

-tidying room isn’t just making your resting place organize, it honestly can be a form of ritual. When you tidy your room- you arrange your bed, you arrange your things, you see that it’s clean, Your thought becomes clearer. You get this lighter feeling, and it really sinks to you that you have a well-organized life. It’s like you removed all the mess in your thought, as you did it with your room.

Get Sun

– Getting sun and connecting with Nature is the best way to release all the stress and tension that you carry. This process allows you to breathe, and see the light.

Journal

– Journaling helps you let go all the negativity in you. It helps you to stop bottling emotions, rants, circling thoughts, or any weight. When you write in a form like you’re talking to someone, you acknowledge yourself and you prevent yourself from keeping it alone.

Always Rehydrate Yourself

-Rehydrating yourself is a must. It gives you the energy + enables your brain to work.
The water needed by a person depends on his/her weight and level of activity. If you’re struggling to rehydrate yourself with the right amount of water, I recommend the application ‘Plant Nanny’, it’s a fun and exciting way to keep your drinking schedule on track.

Have break from social media/or maybe even from Television

– I’m gonna be candid, but Social media today is just full of both negative and sugarcoated things. Same way with Television, it brings awareness but all we hear are accidents, negative deeds, et cetera.
– taking break from both things, will bring you escape away from boosters of your anxiety or other mental struggle.

Turn your time into a creative process

– Paint, Write poems /prose, sew, photograph, whatever, just create.
– Doing something fun where you find enjoyment + comfort + peace, will surely bring you so much positivity. Recharge through your comfort activity.

Meditate

-Meditating allows your head to focus, it recharges your thoughts. It allows your mind to escape through silence.
-i recommend the application called ‘Tide’ , it’s a great application for Meditation. It contains soundtracks which you can use to calm and focus.

Do some self care

– Self-Care is everything which arouses pleasure. Reading, watching your favorite film, skin care, warm bath, make up, coffee, eating, taking pictures of yourself.
– it is anything which can be considered a reward.

Why my Blog was so Quiet.

The last time that I posted a Blog was on May 27th. And I am going to tell you why I had to put myself on a hiatus, and show up just now.

The past weeks, social media has been so loud because of the movement you probably know about – The Black Lives Matter movement.
I decided to support that Movement first because c’mon! We need equality. Racism has to stop. And our Black Brothers and Sisters should also be able to live life the way they deserve.

I also became mentally drained, and I felt burned out because I used to stay late at night doing what I can possibly do to help.

Disclaimer : I’m not blaming the movement, It was and it is my initiative to help.

I know I knew what I should prioritize first, and that is to help those who are in need.
So I decided to temporarily stop my blogging game first. And be active on Twitter and Instagram, sign petitions, Send emails, share what I can possibly share. etcetera.

I, then, realize that if it was overwhelming and a little traumatic for me, then what about to those people experiencing racial injustice first hand?

I thought of an Instagram project I wish I can accomplish very soon.
And it’s the #theprojectloveletter.
Anyone can participate, and it’s aim is to make social media a good place for Our Black brothers and Sisters to heal.
If you wanna join, You can do the following :

1. Make a graphic (your letter of love to black people typed on a plain pink image)
2. Post on your feed and put under #theprojectloveletter
3. You can also share to your followers so more people can join.

The fight isn’t still over. There are lots of things which must still be fixed.
If you wanna do something or do more to support the movement, you can check the link. Here :

You are needed in this battle!

I also want to let y’all know that I finally launched my newsletter called “Bookish & Coffeeholic”. This thing is something I’m really excited about.
I’ll start sending messages once I get 20 Subscribers. So if you can sign to my newsletter, I’d be really grateful!

Specific Tips to Boost Self-Confidence // Self-Love & Personal Development

You wake up early in the morning, and you look at yourself in the mirror. You think that you’re just a potato out of all these beautiful people around you.

You post photos on social media where you always hide yourself, as if your followers will start unfollowing you once they see you.

You copy tutorials on Youtube how to glow up, but then you think, it doesn’t work for you.

Confidence is indeed a difficult thing to have, and it’s not easy to be developed in this ever-growing abundance of media. I guess, everyone struggle with it, if not always, sometimes.

Are you also struggling to stay confident everyday?
If yes, this blog post is for you!

Here are the specific tips to help you be comfortable about yourself :

° Journal your insecurities, then as you fight that insecurity every day, eliminate a letter until it’s already all erased. Means, it’s not your insecurity anymore, but rather a flaw you learned to love and accept.

° Stop comparing yourself to others, and start owning your life.

° Be grateful for what you have

° Think about one of your characters people are most likely to notice and praise, then keep that character.

° Do some workouts, but be body-positive

° Eat healthy foods, and drink healthy drinks

° Expose yourself to people, socialize, and always be kind as possible

° Have advocacies

° Recognise your accomplishments

° always try to be positive, and smile, because a person who’s always smiling is hard to break

° Find your talents, then do not keep them for yourself

° Get out of your comfort self : try new outfits, new hairstyle

° Post pictures of yourself, then if someone comment something negative, unfollow or block that user, you do not need to be connected with negative people

° polish nails, if you want

There’s definitely nothing wrong about improving one self, for as long as you do not change it. Remember, that growth only comes when you’re brave enough to walk out of the things or practices you’re comfortable at.
In this world where people are most-likely to sugarcoat themselves, learn how to hug your true self instead, then be confident being it.

What do you think is the biggest contributor to your lost of confidence? What’s your self-appreciation mantra? Did you find this post helpful?

Comment down your thoughts and we’ll talk more about confidence!

Important Things Instagram Beginners MUST Know

When you are just a beginner on something, it takes you some time to fully understand, and master the process of it.
It takes you some time to be comfortable with it, deal with it, and fully use it.

Instagram is one of the things which is not learned fast. It can be a little complicated, in means of content creation, gaining followers, advertising specific thing on it, or whatnot..

That is why today, I’m gonna be sharing with you the Important Things every Instagram Beginners must know :

📌 Use a clear and interesting Profile Picture

– This is one of the most important things every Instagram user must practice. When you use clear and interesting profile picture, then people will basically be interested, they will click your account to check your content. Through your profile picture, you already give hint that they must follow you because you create good content.
You wanna make sure that your picture really shows your face, so it must be not a whole body picture. Maybe half body picture, or a creative selfie.

📌 Experiment with username

– your username must be interesting as well. you can be more creative with it, add a word which will give the audience an idea about your niche.

📌 Follow people of the same niche

– Instagram following is really important. It builds what you see on your news feed everytime you open your account. Be sure with your niche, and follow users who categorizes themselves under the same niche too. Following like-minded people can help you build your own content, because you might as well get inspirations from their posts. Gaining followers can also become faster and easier since they will know that you have the same interests as theirs.

📌 Create uniform content

– creating uniform content doesn’t mean you have to post the same pictures with same subjects on your account forever. It means making your feed cohesive and well-organized. You might just wanna use one filter and edit the lightning of the pictures depending on their quality. Using one filter makes your feed visually pleasing, therefore calls the attention of other users. I recommend VSCO if you want bright filters, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom if you want distinct filters.

📌 Put Description on bio

– putting description on bio is just as important as putting a profile picture. Your bio must define your account, or you as the owner of the account. If you’re a blogger, photographer, writer, et cetera, you should put that on your bio so people will know your category, and therefore engage on your account if they are under the same category too.
– if you also have website, youtube, or other socials, you can link that on the bio. In that case, you are already using Instagram to advertise.

📌 Use hashtags related on posts or captions

– using hashtags is really crucial in gaining engagement. When you post without hashtag, only your followers see it, but when you post with hashtags, even your non-followers can also have the chance to see your post as long as they follow the hashtag. Remember, you can use maximum of 30 hashtags per post.
– you can also follow hashtags you’re interested with, if you want to discover more Instagram accounts.

📌 Post on Story

– posting on story notifies your followers that you’re active. So maximize the use of Instastory feature because it can bring you engagement. The more you add, the more your icon is pushed on your followers news feed, it will make them check it and interact with your account.
– make sure that your stories are helpful and for a purpose. It should still be related with you or with your followers interests.

📌 Interact

– Interacting with other users is crucial. Like posts, comment on them, view their stories. When you engage with their content, they are most likely to bring it back to you. So as they grow, you too grow.

📌 Your name must be searchable

-There’s difference between username and profile name. Username is what people see on your post, on your stories. While, profile name, is what people see when they come across your account/ profile, or specifically, whole feed. It’s the name displayed under your profile picture, the one which is in top of bio section.
In making a profile name, you must make it searchable. When I say searchable, it means there should be key word/s. Examples are ‘blogger, youtuber, Photographer’.
I’ll give my profile name as an example : Mark Anthony || Blogger/Writer

When people type such keywords on search, your profile will appear. For example, someone search ‘Blogger’, my profile will surely be there because it does contain the key word ‘Blogger’.

📌 Be creative and always bring your phone with you.

– Creating content is one of the most exciting thing about Instagram, and it’s really the key to stand out despite of the Instagram’s ever-changing algorithm.
– sometimes, subjects can be so random, and you sure don’t wanna lose the chance to capture that. Bringing your phone with you, is one thing I’ve learned through the process of my instagram game. Make sure to always have your camera in your pocket, so you waste no moment you can put up on your feed.

Do you love Instagram? What’s your key to fight the ever-changing algorithm? Learned something new?

Ocean and Holes

You are mystified.
When you doesn’t know
who to trust.
When you doesn’t know
what to feel.
You take your days for granted,
And doesn’t know
where to get
the truest happiness.
The voices in your head
always yell words,
So you believe them.
The thoughts inside
doesn’t know where to go out,
they became spirals
where you always fall.
Thousand of waves
are going through you,
Gushing till you’re almost drowning.
And they want you drowning,
But you want it more.
More than they do.
